India extends state-regulation on cotton seed

...

New Delhi - The Indian government said Thursday it has extended the validity period for state regulation on cotton seeds by six months starting June 22 to ensure its supplies to farmers as sowing of the summer crop picks up.

The extension will help the government to continue regulating production, quality and distribution of cotton seeds, a government statement said.

Cotton is sown in June-July and harvested in September-October. India is the world's second-largest producer and exporter of the fibre.
