COIMBATORE: The Powerloom Development and Export Promotion Council will organise a buyer-seller meet here on March 26 and 27 under the Market Development Assistance Scheme.
Former chairman of the council M.S. Mathivanan and its vice-chairman Pawan Kumar Jain told presspersons here on Monday that weavers from different parts of the country would display their products at the exhibition. This would include cotton, blended and silk fabric. Buyers from Europe, Africa, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and the United States were expected to visit the fair apart form the domestic garment exporters and buying houses. A delegation was expected from Sri Lanka.
Stalls
The fair would have about 100 stalls. The objective was to encourage the Indian weavers to export directly to the overseas buyers. One of the new markets explored by the Indian manufacturers now was Africa.
