A delegation of the Kirti Kisan Union leaders recently held a meeting with the district administration officials and requested them to assess the damage done to the cotton crop by whitefly and pink bollworm infestation. Members of the union asked the authorities to tackle lumpy skin disease.
Sarwan Singh, general secretary, Kirti Kisan Union, said, “We met the Bathinda Deputy Commissioner and apprised him of damaged cotton crop and death of cattle due to lumpy skin disease. The DC has assured us that they will take all required steps to tackle these issues.”
